gow3_pc is an unofficial PC port of God of War III Remastered, the 2015 PlayStation 4 version of Santa Monica Studio’s 2010 game. It runs on Windows 10/11, with an experimental Linux AppImage. It was made by Felipe Prado (FelipePrado0 on GitHub). The repository appeared on 2026-10-08 and the first release followed on 2026-10-10. It ships no game files: you need a dump of your own PS4 copy, so this page has no download or play link. We only describe what it is.

Status on 2026-10-17: active development. Version 2.4.0 was published on 2026-10-16, after more than a dozen releases in a week.

How it works

Despite the “fan port” headlines, this is not an RPCS3 build and not the PS3 game. The PS4 uses the same x86-64 processor architecture as a PC, so:

  • the game’s original executable runs directly on the CPU, without CPU emulation;
  • a runtime written for this game replaces the PS4 system libraries (memory, threads, files, audio, video, controller and saves);
  • the graphics run on the video core of shadPS4, the PS4 emulator, which translates PS4 GPU commands and shaders to Vulkan, with God of War III fixes from cuesta4.

The project is a fork of Supermedo’s Windows version of bloodborne_pc, deadinside28’s native Bloodborne port. It is released under the GPL-2.0 licence.

What works, according to the README

  • Menus, video cutscenes, gameplay, music, voices and effects.
  • Controllers (DualSense, Xbox and others) and keyboard at the same time, both remappable.
  • Saving and loading, including autosave; saves are backed up before every start.
  • Render resolutions from 480p to 4K, a texture-corruption fix, skippable videos and 120 or 240 FPS engine frame rates.
  • Ultrawide resolutions (beta) and a launcher with an in-game menu (Insert key, or R3 + L2).

What you need

  • Your own copy of God of War III Remastered for PS4, dumped from your own console. We do not explain how to get game files.
  • Windows 10 (1903 or newer) or 11, 64-bit, or x86-64 Linux with glibc 2.39 or newer.
  • A 64-bit processor with AVX (Intel Sandy Bridge or AMD FX and newer).
  • A graphics card with Vulkan 1.3 and a current driver.

Known problems

The README says texture corruption, crashes and progress blockers have been reported on some setups, and the Linux build is experimental. Check the project’s release notes for current known issues.

FAQ

Is there a God of War 3 PC port?

Yes, an unofficial one. gow3_pc by Felipe Prado is a native port of God of War III Remastered (the PS4 version) for Windows 10/11, with an experimental Linux build. Sony has not released God of War III on PC.

Is the God of War 3 PC port an emulator like RPCS3?

No. It is not built on RPCS3 and does not use the PS3 version. The PS4 game's own x86-64 code runs directly on the PC processor, a custom runtime replaces the PS4 system libraries, and graphics go through shadPS4's Vulkan video core.

Do I need my own copy of God of War III?

Yes. The project includes no game files. It needs a dump of your own PS4 copy of God of War III Remastered; the README lists CUSA01623 and CUSA01715, versions 01.00 and 01.02, as tested.

Is the God of War 3 PC port finished?

It is playable but young. The README says it was tested from start to finish on the developer's PC, while other players report texture corruption, crashes and progress blockers on some setups. New versions came out almost daily in its first week.

Are the God of War 3 PC download sites safe?

Be careful. Several unofficial sites and repositories copy the name, and some offer repacks or torrents. The project's only official home is its GitHub repository. We do not link any downloads.

Unofficial. This page is written by an independent directory. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or Felipe Prado (FelipePrado0) (God of War III Remastered for PC (gow3_pc)'s author). We do not host any files, and we never link to game files, ROMs or ISOs.
