About PortedGames
Last updated Oct 17, 2026
PortedGames keeps track of the fan and AI-assisted ports of classic games that have been appearing almost every week: browser versions of console games, native PC ports, and community platforms that add mods, offline play or private servers to a game.
New ports spread on X, Reddit and Discord long before there is any clear, reliable page about them. Links change, projects get taken down, and copycat download sites pop up. We write one plain page per port that answers the same questions every time:
- What is it, and who made it?
- Does it work today? (checked daily, with the date)
- Where can you play or get it from the official source?
- What do you need: your own copy of the game, a certain PC, a controller?
- How do you set it up, and what do the common errors mean?
How we work
- We do not host files. No games, no ROMs, no ISOs, no installers. We link to the author’s own site or repository, and to nothing else.
- Every fact has a source. Each page lists the README, release notes or announcements we used, and the date we last checked them. When the official source changes, it wins.
- Status is checked automatically. A script requests every port’s official link each day and records the result.
- We write our own guides. We work from the official documentation and say what we have and have not tested; we do not copy other sites.
