pt-pc is an unofficial native PC port of P.T., Kojima Productions’ 2014 “playable teaser” for the cancelled Silent Hills, which was released only on PlayStation 4. It runs on Windows 10/11, Linux and, more recently, macOS 14+. It was made by Lorean Xavier (LoreanXavier on GitHub), who says AI coding tools were used to build and debug it. It ships no game files: you need a dump of your own PS4 copy, so this page has no download or play link.
What it is
The README describes a rebuild rather than an emulator: the game logic was written again in C++ from the original’s behaviour, with a Vulkan renderer. Levels, models, textures, sound and cutscenes are read at run time from your copy. It says the whole teaser plays, voice section included, and adds options such as upscalers, a photo mode and extra languages, all off by default.
Current status
Status on 2026-10-17: working. Version 1.0.0 appeared on 7 October 2026 and 1.0.5 on 16 October. Ars Technica (12 October) and Help Desk Geek (13 October) reported on it. We have not tested it.
What you need
- Your own copy of P.T., dumped from your own console (the README names the US release, CUSA01127). We do not explain how to get game files.
- Windows 10/11 x64, Linux x86-64 with glibc 2.38+, or macOS 14+.
- A GPU and driver with Vulkan 1.3.
- A microphone for one scene, or the keyboard substitute.
Who made it
The repository belongs to LoreanXavier, and the coverage names Lorean Xavier as the developer. The README credits other contributors for the Apple silicon build, a Czech translation and Linux fixes.
Is it safe and legal?
It is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Konami or Kojima Productions. The port’s own code is MIT-licensed and contains no game assets. Get it only from the GitHub repository: P.T. has long attracted fake “P.T. download” sites, and copies that bundle the game are not this project.
Not working?
Check the release notes on GitHub for the newest version and report problems there with your log.
FAQ
Is there a P.T. PC port?
Yes, an unofficial one. pt-pc by Lorean Xavier is a native port of P.T., the 2014 PS4 teaser for the cancelled Silent Hills, for Windows, Linux and macOS. Konami has never released P.T. on PC.
Is the P.T. PC port an emulator?
No. According to its README, the game logic was rebuilt in C++ and the renderer is written on Vulkan, in its own "Hallway Engine". The shadPS4 emulator was used only as a reference.
Do I need my own copy of P.T.?
Yes. The repository and its installers contain no game data. The port reads everything from a dump of your own PS4 copy; it was tested with the US release CUSA01127.
Does the P.T. PC port work on Linux and Steam Deck?
The README lists Linux x86-64 with glibc 2.38 or newer, including SteamOS, as supported. A macOS version also exists; the Intel Mac build had not been run on real hardware when we checked.
Can I play P.T. on PC without a microphone?
Yes. The README says one key can stand in for the spoken word, set under the voice section of the port's pt.ini file.
Unofficial. This page is written by an independent directory. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Konami or Lorean Xavier (LoreanXavier) (P.T. for PC (pt-pc, Hallway Engine)'s author). We do not host any files, and we never link to game files, ROMs or ISOs.
