shadPS4-AYOUB1080p is an unofficial build of the shadPS4 PlayStation 4 emulator, tuned to run inFAMOUS Second Son (Sucker Punch Productions, published by Sony for PS4 in 2014) on a Windows PC. It was made by Ayoub (weshayoub92 on GitHub, @ayoub_le_vrai on X). His first clips appeared around 2026-10-02; the repository went up on 2026-10-05 and release v1.0 followed on 2026-10-06. It ships no game files, so this page has no download or play link. We only describe what it is.
Status on 2026-10-17: the repository is online with one release (v1.0). It has not been updated since 2026-10-06.
What it is
This is an emulator fork, not a native port. It starts from shadPS4 commit 2338a06 (30 September 2026) and changes the parts that slowed the game’s open city down. The README lists:
- GPU readbacks moved to a second GPU queue, so the emulated GPU no longer stalls the game;
- less work per draw and per frame: Vulkan commands recorded on their own thread, cached pipeline and texture lookups, skipped redundant work;
- background shader compilation, skipping a draw instead of freezing while a pipeline compiles;
- accuracy fixes: real occlusion queries (car headlights no longer shine through buildings) and console-paced GPU timing, so the game’s dynamic quality system keeps its detail;
- a built-in fix for the green screen of the PS4 Pro checkerboard mode in shadPS4;
- game patches for native 1440p, 1800p or 4K rendering, a wider field of view and an anti-freeze guard.
The options switch on automatically for inFAMOUS Second Son. The README says the build is only tested with this game.
On the main shadPS4 branch the community compatibility list rates the game “in-game”, meaning it reaches gameplay with graphics problems and hangs. See our shadPS4 guide for the emulator itself.
What you need
- Your own copy of inFAMOUS Second Son for PS4, dumped from your own console. We do not explain how to get game files.
- A 64-bit Windows PC with a Vulkan graphics card. The README says emulation depends mostly on the CPU; it was tuned on a Ryzen 9 9950X3D.
- The bundled patches target the European release CUSA00004, version 01.00. Expect shader-compilation stutter in each new area on the first runs.
Who made it
Ayoub wrote the changes. The README credits them as developed with the help of Claude (Anthropic). On X he said he had the game running in native 4K within 24 hours. Hardware.com.br noted that the showcase ran on a Ryzen 9 9950X3D with an RTX 5090, and that the code was not yet public when it wrote its article; the repository appeared three days later.
The headline “4K at 60 FPS” is from that high-end demo. Tech4Gamers reported 30 to 50 FPS at 1440p on a Ryzen 7 5700X, with some visual issues. That report cites a different player’s clip and does not name the fork, so it may not reflect this exact build.
Is it safe and legal?
- It is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sucker Punch Productions or the shadPS4 team. It is GPL-2.0-or-later, like shadPS4.
- It contains no game files, keys or firmware. Only use a dump of a copy you own.
- Get it only from the GitHub repository linked in the sources.
Not working?
The README asks users to check the shadPS4 log file, which lists every patch applied or skipped, and to turn on its performance log when asking for help. If the city runs slowly, try a lower resolution patch or turn off the PS4 Pro mode. A separate native port, HayatoG’s iss_pc, is in active development with near-daily builds but is not covered by this page.
FAQ
Can you play inFAMOUS Second Son on PC?
Not officially. Sony has not released it on PC, but an unofficial shadPS4 fork called shadPS4-AYOUB1080p is tuned to run the PS4 version on Windows, using a dump of your own copy.
Is the inFAMOUS Second Son PC version a native port?
The fork covered by TweakTown is not. It is a modified build of the shadPS4 PS4 emulator. A separate project, HayatoG's iss_pc, describes itself as a native port and is still in development.
Was the inFAMOUS Second Son shadPS4 fork made with AI?
Partly. The README credits the changes to Ayoub, developed with the help of Claude by Anthropic. Ayoub said on X that he got the game running in native 4K in 24 hours.
Does inFAMOUS Second Son really run at 4K 60 FPS on PC?
Not confirmed for most PCs. The 4K showcase was on a Ryzen 9 9950X3D with an RTX 5090. Tech4Gamers reported 30 to 50 FPS at 1440p on a Ryzen 7 5700X, and the README says performance depends mostly on the CPU.
Do I need to own inFAMOUS Second Son?
Yes. The fork contains no game files, keys, firmware or system modules. You need a dump of your own PS4 copy.
Unofficial. This page is written by an independent directory. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or Ayoub (weshayoub92) (inFAMOUS Second Son on PC (shadPS4-AYOUB1080p fork)'s author). We do not host any files, and we never link to game files, ROMs or ISOs.
