BO1 Zombies at vel.gg is an unofficial browser version of the Zombies mode from Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010). It runs in a desktop browser tab with WebAssembly and downloads each map’s data from the site, so you do not need your own game files. When we checked on 2026-10-17 the site loaded normally.
The site does not name its creator. Its engine files are named KisakBlack-web, which points to KisakBlack, an open-source (GPL-3.0) reimplementation of the Black Ops executable by SwagSoftware. The KisakBlack repository itself only covers a Windows build that needs a Steam copy of the game, and it does not mention a web version.
What it can do
- Ten maps: Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Der Riese, Kino der Toten, Five, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La and Moon, picked from a copy of the game’s own map-select screen.
- Single player or Multiplayer: the first screen asks for a player name, then single player or “Create a lobby, invite friends”.
- Gun sets: the original Black Ops guns, or an optional Counter-Strike 2 style set (guns, recoil and movement) on supported maps.
- Hell mode (Classic guns only, not on every map): the site describes it as starting on round 100 with up to 300 zombies at once and no perk machines.
- Options: mouse sensitivity, master volume and fullscreen.
How to play
- Open vel.gg/bo1z in a current desktop browser such as Chrome or Edge.
- Enter a name, choose single player or a lobby, and pick a gun set.
- Pick a map. The first visit to each map downloads its data and stores it in your browser, so it can take a while.
- Press a key to start, then click the game to capture the mouse.
Requirements
- A desktop browser with hardware acceleration switched on.
- Free browser storage: the site warns when a map needs more space than the browser allows.
- Keyboard and mouse, or a controller (the site includes gamepad support).
Controls
The site does not publish a full key list. Two things it does point out: crouch is Ctrl, and because Ctrl+W closes a browser tab, it suggests turning on Fullscreen in Options so browser shortcuts go to the game. Tab shows a zombie counter when that option is on.
Is it safe and legal?
- It is an unofficial fan project. Call of Duty belongs to Activision, which has not endorsed it, and it could be taken offline at any time.
- You do not install anything; the game runs in the browser tab and keeps its downloads in site storage.
- We only link the site itself.
Not working?
- Very low frame rate: turn on hardware acceleration in your browser settings, or try another browser.
- “Browser storage is full”: free some disk space or clear unused site data, then retry. Partial downloads resume.
- The mouse does not aim: click the game window to capture the mouse again.
- Engine stopped: reload the page; the site keeps the verified download.
