Bloodborne (FromSoftware, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PS4 in 2015) has no official PC release, but in autumn 2026 there are two unofficial ways to run it on a computer: the long-running shadPS4 emulator, and bbport, a Bloodborne-only “native” port by deadinside28 whose first release came out on 2026-10-01. Supermedo’s fork turns bbport into a Windows 10/11 package. All of them need a dump of your own copy, so this page has no download or play link.
Status on 2026-10-17: active. bbport published version 0.6-pre1 on 2026-10-15; Supermedo’s Windows fork reached windows-v1.9 on 2026-10-16.
Emulated or native: what is the difference?
- shadPS4 is a general open-source PS4 emulator for Windows, Linux and macOS. Its README lists Bloodborne among the games it can run, and the community compatibility list rates Bloodborne as “in-game” with graphics and hang issues on some reports. See our shadPS4 guide.
- bbport is built for Bloodborne alone. Because the PS4 and a PC share the x86-64 architecture, the game’s original executable runs directly on the CPU, with no CPU emulation. A runtime written for this one game replaces the PS4 system libraries.
- The graphics in bbport still go through a renderer derived from shadPS4, heavily extended for this game. Steam Deck HQ argues that only the CPU side is truly native for that reason. “Native port” here means “Wine plus DXVK for one game”, not a source-code rewrite.
What the projects offer, according to their READMEs
- bbport (Linux): an AppImage and GTK4 launcher, unlocked frame rate through community patches (plus 30/60/90 FPS modes), AMD FSR 3.1, FSR 4 and FSR 4.1.1 upscaling with motion vectors computed by the port, gamepad, sound and saves.
- Supermedo’s Windows fork: a launcher in 13 languages, NVIDIA DLSS, FSR 3.1 and 4, unlocked FPS with a cap, cheats and mods pages, DLC from your own dump, keyboard and mouse remapping, and an online beta through community servers.
What you need
- Your own copy of Bloodborne for PS4 with update 1.09, dumped from your own console. We do not explain how to get game files.
- For bbport: Linux x86-64 and a Vulkan 1.3 GPU (tested on an AMD RX 7800 XT with Mesa).
- For the Windows fork: 64-bit Windows 10 (1903+) or 11, an Intel Haswell or AMD Ryzen CPU or newer (AVX is required), a Vulkan 1.3 GPU and about 6 GB of free memory.
Who made it
deadinside28 created bbport; the repository’s first commit is dated 2026-09-25. Supermedo (Mohammed Albarghouthi) maintains the Windows fork, which in turn contributed its DLSS bridge back to bbport. Supermedo’s Windows version is also the base of the God of War III PC port. Steam Deck HQ reported that the project uses AI-assisted coding with Claude; the README itself does not say how much.
Is it safe and legal?
- All of these are unofficial fan projects, not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or FromSoftware. They are GPL-2.0 licensed and include no game data.
- Only use a dump of a copy you own. Bloodborne can still be bought for PS4.
- Dozens of other repositories on GitHub now use the Bloodborne PC name. Use only the project repositories linked in the sources, and be wary of third-party download sites.
Not working?
bbport is experimental: a full play-through is not verified, and the new memory model is not yet the default on NVIDIA GPUs. Steam Deck HQ found heavy graphical artifacts on the Steam Deck. Check each project’s release notes and issue tracker before reporting a problem, and send bbport questions to its own Discord, not to the shadPS4 team.
FAQ
Is there a native Bloodborne PC port?
There is an unofficial one. bbport by deadinside28 runs the PS4 game's own code directly on a Linux PC, and Supermedo's fork packages it for Windows 10/11. Sony has not released Bloodborne on PC.
What is the difference between bbport and playing Bloodborne in shadPS4?
shadPS4 is a general PS4 emulator that tries to run many games. bbport is built for Bloodborne only. Its runtime replaces the PS4 system libraries for this one game, and its renderer is derived from shadPS4's video core, so the graphics side is still translation, not a rewrite.
Is the Bloodborne native port affiliated with shadPS4?
No. The bbport README says the project is not related to shadPS4 and asks users to send questions to its own Discord server, not to the shadPS4 one.
Do I need my own copy of Bloodborne?
Yes. No project includes game files. You need a dump of your own PS4 copy of Bloodborne with update 1.09.
Can you finish Bloodborne with the native port?
Not confirmed. The bbport README calls it experimental and playable, but says a full play-through has not been verified and only one Linux machine with an AMD GPU was tested thoroughly.
Unofficial. This page is written by an independent directory. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or deadinside28 (bbport); Supermedo (Windows fork) (Bloodborne on PC (bbport native port and shadPS4)'s author). We do not host any files, and we never link to game files, ROMs or ISOs.
