AnyPS5: PS5 Games on PC Without an Emulator, Games and Status
Last updated Oct 20, 2026
AnyPS5 is a free, open-source tool that converts PlayStation 5 games into native Windows and Linux programs. It is not an emulator: its relinker rewrites the game’s executable into the PC’s own format, and the project’s reimplementations of the PS5 system libraries are loaded alongside it (AnyPS5 README, checked 20 October 2026). It is still very early. Only one game, Dreaming Sarah, is listed as playable in the project’s own compatibility list, and the latest release is v0.1.3 (20 October 2026). It ships no games: you need the files from your own PS5.
This site is not affiliated with AnyPS5 or Sony. We do not host any files and do not explain how to get game files.
What AnyPS5 is
- A converter, not an emulator. The PS5 has an x86-64 processor (AMD Zen 2), like a PC. AnyPS5’s relinker converts a game’s executable to a Linux or Windows program; the README describes “no emulation or separate runtime process”. A macOS output for Intel Macs and Apple silicon (through Rosetta) also exists for the relinker.
- Reimplemented system libraries. PS5 games call Sony’s system libraries (PRX files). AnyPS5 writes its own versions of them. The project’s progress page measures how many of the functions it knows about are done; on 20 October 2026 the core C library stood at 99% and the kernel library at 94%, but the README notes these are percentages of functions declared so far, not of everything a game might use.
- Graphics through Vulkan. A shader recompiler translates the PS5’s GPU shaders into SPIR-V for Vulkan.
- Open source. GPL-2.0, developed on GitHub by boykopovar with many contributors. The repository was created on 3 August 2026; v0.1.0 came out on 28 September 2026. It is one of the most-watched game projects on GitHub this autumn (about 44,000 stars on 20 October 2026). Press coverage includes SlashGear, Notebookcheck and TweakTown.
Which AnyPS5 games run
| Game | State | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Dreaming Sarah | “In game, playable” on Windows (60 fps on a GTX 1050 Ti) | Tested-compatibility list in the v0.1.1 release |
That is the whole official list. For every other game, the README points to a community-run blocker map that shows how far each title gets and what blocks it, and to the project’s Game bring-up discussions, one thread per game. Videos of other games booting exist, but we only list what the project itself confirms.
AnyPS5’s code is also reused by other projects. The Gran Turismo Sport PC port (RyGT) credits Ryty, “itself a fork of AnyPS5”, for its converter and system libraries, together with code from shadPS4 for graphics. The project’s release notes also contain fixes for PS4 executables, though the README describes it as a PS5 tool.
What you need
- The game’s files from your own PS5. AnyPS5 includes no games, firmware or keys. The usage guide expects a decrypted executable and its modules. We do not explain how to get them and do not link tools for it.
- A CPU with the PS5’s instruction extensions. Converted games run directly on your processor, so it needs AVX2, FMA, F16C, BMI1/BMI2, LZCNT and MOVBE, among others. A converted game checks this at start-up and stops if one is missing. Intel processors need an extra conversion option, and some games still require an AMD CPU (usage guide).
- A Vulkan graphics card and Windows or Linux. The relinker alone also runs on macOS.
- A controller (SDL-supported pads, with sticks and triggers) or keyboard and mouse mapped through a settings file.
The only official download
- Source code: github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5
- Releases: AnyPS5 Releases. On 21 October 2026 the latest was v0.1.3 (20 October 2026), with the relinker and the system libraries for Windows and Linux.
- Web converter: the project’s own page, boykopovar.github.io/AnyPS5, converts in your browser; the README says files stay on your device.
The README links only GitHub, its GitHub Pages site and a Discord server. Other “AnyPS5” sites, “AnyPS5 game packs” or pre-converted games are not from the project. Avoid them.

AnyPS5 vs KytyPS5, SharpEmu and shadPS4
| Project | What it is | Console | State (20 October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| AnyPS5 | Converter: turns the game into a native PC program, plus reimplemented system libraries | PS5 | v0.1.3; one game confirmed playable |
| KytyPS5 | Runs PS5 games inside its own program; its README calls it a “translation layer”, its website an emulator. Based on Kyty | PS5 | Daily builds; README says it can boot 2D and 3D games |
| SharpEmu | “An experimental PlayStation 5 emulator” (its README) | PS5 | v0.0.6-mono (18 October 2026) |
| Kyty | The original “PS4 & PS5 emulator” KytyPS5 started from | PS4 games, PS5 homebrew | Early stage; last change May 2024 |
| shadPS4 | Open-source PlayStation 4 emulator, and the base of most PS4 “PC ports” | PS4 | v.0.20.0 (14 October 2026) |
The PS4 ports on this site, such as God of War III, Bloodborne and Gran Turismo Sport, are game-specific projects built on shadPS4 code (and, for Gran Turismo, on an AnyPS5 fork). Read our shadPS4 guide for how those work, and the PS4 section of the recompiled games list for every PS4 project we track. We don’t track PS5 ports there yet, because none has a confirmed playable release.
Is AnyPS5 legal?
AnyPS5 is open-source software published on GitHub, and the project says it is meant for “interoperability, research, preservation, and compatibility purposes”. It contains no games, firmware or keys. The legal risk lies in where game files come from, and rules differ by country, so this is not legal advice. Only use files from games you own, and stay away from sites that offer PS5 game downloads.

FAQ
Is AnyPS5 an emulator?
No. AnyPS5 is a conversion tool. Its relinker turns a PS5 game's executable into a normal Windows or Linux program, and the project's own reimplementations of the PS5 system libraries are loaded next to it. The README says there is "no emulation or separate runtime process". It works because the PS5's processor uses the same x86-64 architecture as a PC.
Which games work with AnyPS5?
Very few so far. The only game in the project's tested-compatibility list (shipped with v0.1.1) is Dreaming Sarah, marked "In game, playable" on Windows. Per-game progress for other titles is tracked on a community blocker map and in the project's Game bring-up discussions; most titles there are still stuck at some stage.
Where do I download AnyPS5?
Only from the official GitHub repository, boykopovar/AnyPS5, and its Releases page. The README also links a web converter on the project's GitHub Pages site (boykopovar.github.io/AnyPS5) that runs in your browser and keeps files on your device. Other "AnyPS5" download sites are not linked from the project.
Is AnyPS5 safe?
The tool itself is open source (GPL-2.0) and built publicly on GitHub. The risk is fake download sites using the name, which may bundle malware or ask you to download games. Get it only from the official repository, and never download games from anywhere.
Does AnyPS5 include PS5 games?
No. The project says it does not include, distribute or require copyrighted software, firmware, keys or proprietary libraries. You need the game's files from your own console. We do not explain how to get them.
Can AnyPS5 play GTA 6?
No. GTA 6 is not out yet (it launches on 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox), and no tool can play it on PC. Downloads that claim to are fake. See our page on whether GTA 6 is on PC.
Can I play Ghost of Yotei on PC with AnyPS5?
Not as far as we can confirm. The project lists no working state for it; its issue tracker has open bug reports about Ghost of Yōtei's graphics code, which means people are still working on it. Treat videos or downloads claiming a working AnyPS5 Ghost of Yōtei build with caution.
What is the difference between AnyPS5 and KytyPS5?
AnyPS5 converts the game into a native program once, ahead of time. KytyPS5 is a separate open-source project that runs PS5 games inside its own program and calls itself a PS5 "translation layer"; its website calls it an emulator. They are different teams and different code bases.
