Grand Theft Auto is the series people search for most on this site, helped along by the run-up to GTA 6. The short version: GTA III and Vice City play in a browser today, GTA V’s web port was pulled within hours of going viral, and fans have made native PC versions of games that were stuck on handhelds and consoles. The lists above are updated by our daily checks.

In a browser

  • GTA III on quenq and GTA Vice City on quenq stream the game data from quenq’s servers: no files of your own, about 116 MB and 135 MB on first load. Both are built on the reverse-engineered re3 and reVC engines. Other GTA III builds, including DOS Zone’s own, are listed on the GTA III page.
  • The joncodeofficial Vice City client imports the files from your own copy once and then plays offline, with no streaming from a server.
  • Chinatown Wars runs the PSP version through a WebAssembly build of the PPSSPP emulator. When we tested it on 23 October 2026 its game-data server was refusing requests, so the game would not start.
  • GTA V: pulled the day it went viral. We don’t link the re-uploads.

Native PC and Apple ports

  • Liberty City Stories: the PSP game statically recompiled into a native PC program, with mouse and keyboard and 60 fps.
  • GTA IV (Xbox 360 recomp): an early recompilation of the Xbox 360 version, not ready for players yet.
  • GTA V on iPhone and on Mac: apps that run the taken-down GTA V web build natively. They need game files that nobody can own legally.

FAQ

Can you play GTA in a browser?

Yes. GTA III and GTA Vice City both run in a browser tab through WebAssembly builds of the re3 and reVC engines, the community's reverse-engineered versions of the games' code. On quenq.com both stream the game data themselves, so nothing is imported; a second Vice City client imports files from your own copy and then works offline.

Is there a GTA V browser version?

Not a working one. A GTA V browser port on playgta5.com went viral on 6 October 2026 and was pulled the same day; press reports say Take-Two had it removed. Re-uploads on other sites are unauthorized, and the one we tested crashed when the game started.

Can you play GTA 6 in a browser or on PC?

No. GTA 6 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series only, and there is no PC or browser version. Any "GTA 6 PC" or "GTA 6 online" download is fake. See our page on whether GTA 6 is on PC.

Are these GTA browser ports official?

No. None of them are made or licensed by Rockstar or Take-Two, and Take-Two has had earlier versions taken down. We link only each project's own site and host nothing.
