quenq Vice City (Web Edition)

GTA: Vice City on quenq.com, a browser build of the reVCDOS / reVC WebAssembly engine that streams the game data itself, so no files of your own are needed.

quenq Vice City is the GTA: Vice City page on quenq.com. It plays the full 2002 game in a browser tab and, unlike most Vice City browser ports, it streams the game data itself: no files to import, no install. It is unofficial, the data is Rockstar’s copyrighted content served without any stated licence, and the page is ad-funded. When we checked on 17 October 2026 the page and its game files loaded normally. Because it is a commercial game, we only link to it and do not embed it.

Who runs it

Quenq calls itself an “interactive museum of internet culture”. Its About page describes a hobby project best known for Reborn XP, a Windows XP simulator in the browser, plus a Flash game arcade and an Apps section. Vice City sits in Apps next to a GTA III page and a few mobile classics. The site says it is paid for by on-site advertising and also runs a social network called Kwenk and a Discord server. No owner’s name is given on the site (not confirmed).

The game itself runs from a separate address, vc.quenq.com, inside a frame on the main page. Opened on its own, that address sends you back to quenq.com. The earliest Internet Archive capture of vc.quenq.com is from 7 February 2026, which is the earliest date we could verify; the real launch may be earlier.

What engine it uses

Quenq’s own text says the port is built on reVCDOS, which uses reVC, the reverse-engineered rebuild of the Vice City engine from the re3 project. The loader script confirms this: it is the DOS Zone “vcsky” WebAssembly build, with the original DOS Zone address rewritten to quenq’s own server. It loads an English data package of roughly 135 MB in seven parts and keeps it in the browser cache, so a second visit starts faster.

How it differs from the GitHub port

quenq Vice City GTA: Vice City WASM Port
Game data Streamed by quenq Your own copy, imported once
Install or import None Import a game archive
Ads Google ads, consent message None seen
Code Closed site Open source (MIT, client only)

So the engine is close to the same, but the important difference is where the game data comes from.

Features listed on the page

  • Save manager: upload or download .b save files.
  • Controllers and touch: USB or Bluetooth gamepads, on-screen controls on mobile.
  • FPS limit: unlocked by default; quenq warns this can break physics and some missions, and recommends 30 FPS if you get stuck.
  • Mod manager: the loader has a built-in mod section; we did not test it.
  • Cheat codes: quenq links its own cheat list.

Safety and ads

  • Google AdSense ads sit around the game on wide screens, and a Google consent or ad-blocker message may appear.
  • The page has a Disqus comment section and Google Analytics.
  • We saw no fake download buttons, but only play on quenq’s own page and ignore look-alike domains.
  • Your saves and the cached data stay in your browser. Clearing site data removes them.

Not working?

  • Black screen or heavy lag: turn on hardware acceleration in your browser settings, as quenq advises.
  • Missions fail or cars behave oddly: set the FPS limit to 30 in the game menu.
  • Device overheating: cap the frame rate at 30 or 60.
  • If quenq is down: the GTA: Vice City WASM Port runs the same engine with files from your own copy.

FAQ

What is quenq Vice City?

It is the GTA Vice City page on quenq.com, a hobby "internet culture museum" site. It runs a WebAssembly build of the game in a browser tab and streams the game data from quenq's own servers, so you do not import anything.

Do I need my own GTA Vice City files for quenq Vice City?

No. Unlike the GitHub WASM port, quenq serves the game data itself and the game starts after a short load. That also means quenq is distributing Rockstar's game content without any stated permission.

Is quenq Vice City the same as the GTA Vice City WASM port?

They share an engine family, reVCDOS on top of the DOS Zone WebAssembly build of reVC, but they are different sites. The GitHub port asks for your own game archive; quenq streams the data for you.

Does quenq Vice City work on phones?

The page lists on-screen touch controls and recommends landscape and fullscreen. Gamepads for Xbox and PlayStation are also supported. A phone may get hot; quenq suggests capping the frame rate at 30 or 60.

Can I use my old saves on quenq Vice City?

Yes. Its save manager uploads and downloads PC-style save files (GTAVCsf1.b and similar), so you can move progress between devices or back it up.

Is quenq Vice City official or safe?

It is not official and has no link to Rockstar Games or Take-Two. The page runs Google ads, a Google consent or ad-blocker message and Disqus comments. We saw no download button or installer; nothing needs to be installed.

Unofficial. This page is written by an independent directory. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Rockstar Games or Quenq (quenq Vice City (Web Edition)'s author). We do not host any files, and we never link to game files, ROMs or ISOs.
