Is GTA 6 on PC? Release Date, Browser Version and Fake Downloads
Last updated Oct 20, 2026
Short answer (checked 20 October 2026)
No, GTA 6 is not on PC. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a PC release date, there is no browser version, and no cloud service has announced it. Any “GTA 6 PC download” or “GTA 6 in your browser” site is fake. Don’t download anything from them.
PortedGames tracks fan ports and PC versions of console games. GTA 6 is not a port and there is nothing to play on PC yet. We made this page because “GTA 6 PC” is one of the most searched questions around the launch and fake download sites are already ranking for it. We will update it on launch day, 19 November 2026, and whenever Rockstar announces anything about PC.
This site is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
When is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Officially: no date. Rockstar’s GTA VI page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Take-Two’s latest earnings release (7 August 2026) lists GTA VI for “PS5, Xbox Series X|S” on 19 November 2026, while other games in the same table list PC (Take-Two Q1 FY2027 results). PC Gamer’s 2026 release calendar sums it up as “Crime returns to Vice City, but not on PC” (PC Gamer, updated 15 October 2026), and VGC’s release schedule also lists only PS5 and Xbox.
What Take-Two has said about PC, in its own words as reported by the press:
- February 2025: CEO Strauss Zelnick told IGN that Rockstar “has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms” (VGC).
- May 2026: Zelnick told Bloomberg that “Rockstar always starts on console”, and that on a big title PC can be 45 to 50% of sales (PC Gamer, 4 May 2026).
- May 2026 earnings call: “Virtually all of our hit titles end up on all platforms over time”, and Rockstar “has announced GTA 6 for console only so far” (Wccftech, 22 May 2026).
- September 2026: at the shareholder meeting Zelnick said “the PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company over time” (PC Gamer, 18 September 2026).
Unconfirmed report: on 13 October 2026 GamesBeat reported, citing anonymous sources, that a PC release is planned within the first three months of 2027. Rockstar did not comment and Take-Two has not confirmed it. Treat it as a rumour until Rockstar announces something.
The next scheduled official update is Take-Two’s quarterly results on 9 November 2026.
How long Rockstar took before (history, not a prediction)
| Game | First console release | PC release | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Theft Auto V | 17 September 2013 (PS3, Xbox 360) | 14 April 2015 | about 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | 26 October 2018 (PS4, Xbox One) | 5 November 2019 | about 12 months |
Dates from the GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 Wikipedia articles, checked 20 October 2026. Past gaps say nothing certain about GTA 6. Its date has also moved twice already (see below), so only an announcement from Rockstar counts.
Can you play GTA 6 on PC right now?
No. There is no PC version and no fan port, and nothing official lets you play the console version on a PC. Tools that convert PS5 games for PC, such as AnyPS5, need a game you already own and can only run a handful of titles; none can run a game that has not been released.
Cloud gaming? No streaming service has officially announced GTA 6. On 7 October 2026 a report suggested Xbox had exclusive streaming rights. Xbox’s chief strategy officer Matthew Ball replied the same day that the game “will not be streaming exclusively or to PC” (PC Gamer, 7 October 2026). If that changes, it will come from Rockstar, Microsoft, Sony or NVIDIA directly, not from a third-party site.
“GTA 6 PC download” is always fake
Since there is no PC version, every file that claims to be GTA 6 for PC is a scam. Security researchers have documented the patterns:
- Fake ISO and installer downloads that look full-size but carry remote-access trojans, an infostealer and ransomware used as a wiper. Huntress found them pushed through “SEO poisoning”, pages built to rank for GTA 6 searches (Huntress, 9 September 2026).
- Fake “leaked beta” downloads and fake pre-order stores copying official branding and trailers, where “no game is ever delivered” (Kaspersky, 9 July 2026).
- “VIP early access” sites asking a few hundred dollars in cryptocurrency for a code (Malwarebytes, 23 June 2026).
- Sponsored social-media ads for a “GTA VI beta” PC download that installs malware (Bitdefender, July 2024).
How to spot a fake:
- It offers GTA 6 for PC, a “PC beta”, a “repack”, an ISO or an APK. None exist.
- It asks you to complete surveys, install a “launcher”, disable your antivirus, or pay in crypto or gift cards.
- It is not rockstargames.com, the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store or the Rockstar Games Store. Those are the only places Rockstar named for pre-orders.
- The domain is new, the page is full of pop-ups, or it ships a password-protected archive.
If you already ran such a file: disconnect from the internet, run a full scan with your antivirus, and change your passwords from a different, clean device.
We don’t name or link any of these sites.
Is there a GTA 6 browser version?
No. Rockstar has not released GTA 6 in a browser, and no fan has ported it to one; the game isn’t even out until 19 November.
The confusion comes from October 2026. An unofficial GTA 5 browser port went viral on 6 October and was taken down within hours. According to Beebom, players “could also load and play the leaked GTA 6 map” in it. That map was not GTA 6. Press reports trace the leaked map to an early (about 2014–2015) development build from the 2022 Rockstar hack, which modders had loaded into GTA 5 in September 2026 (DSOGaming, Tech4Gamers). It was GTA 5 with an unfinished map and none of GTA 6’s game. We could not confirm the browser port used that exact build.
The full story, including the re-upload that still circulates, is on our GTA 5 browser port page. Its short version: it is gone, copies of it are unauthorized, and one copy asks you to install a root certificate. Don’t.

What you can play on PC instead
- GTA V is sold for PC on official stores such as Steam. Its browser port is not legitimate: see what happened to it.
- GTA: Vice City in the browser: a fan WebAssembly port. GTA 6 returns to Vice City; this is the 2002 original, and it needs files from your own PC copy.
- GTA III in the browser: runs on quenq with nothing to import. Unofficial, and quenq serves the game data without stated permission.

FAQ
Is GTA 6 on PC?
No. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a PC release date.
When is the GTA 6 PC release date?
There is no official one. Take-Two's CEO has said Rockstar starts on console and that its hit games usually end up on all platforms over time. A GamesBeat report on 13 October 2026 said, citing anonymous sources, that a PC version is planned for early 2027; Rockstar and Take-Two have not confirmed it.
Can I download GTA 6 for PC?
No. There is no PC version, so every "GTA 6 PC download", "GTA 6 PC beta" or "GTA 6 ISO" is fake. Security companies have found such downloads carrying password stealers, remote-access trojans and ransomware. Do not download or run them.
Is there a GTA 6 browser version?
No. Rockstar has not released GTA 6 in a browser and there is no fan browser port of it. Sites offering "GTA 6 online in your browser" are fake or show something else, such as GTA 5 mods.
Can I play GTA 6 on PC through cloud gaming?
Not as far as anyone has announced. No cloud service has officially announced GTA 6. When reports in October 2026 suggested Xbox streaming rights, Xbox's chief strategy officer said the game would not be streaming exclusively or to PC.
How long did previous Rockstar games take to come to PC?
GTA V reached PC about 19 months after its first console release (September 2013 to April 2015). Red Dead Redemption 2 took about 12 months (October 2018 to November 2019). That is history, not a prediction for GTA 6.
What was the GTA 6 map in the GTA 5 browser port?
The unofficial GTA 5 browser port that appeared in October 2026 could load a leaked GTA 6 map inside GTA 5. Press reports trace that map to an early development build from the 2022 Rockstar leak. It is GTA 5 with an unfinished map, not GTA 6, and the port was taken down within hours.
How much is GTA 6?
Rockstar priced the standard edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99 in the US, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC price because there is no PC version.
