PS1 Recompiled Games: Every Native PC Port (Oct 2026)

PlayStation games are coming to PC mostly through decompilation: fans rebuild readable source code that compiles back into the game, then port it with a layer such as PsyCross that stands in for the console. A few use static recompilation tools instead.

Short answerUpdated

We track 10 PS1 projects. 9 are playable today (stable or beta), including Driver 2, Tekken 3, The Legend of Dragoon and Ape Escape. Every one needs files from your own copy of the game; we never link to game files.

FAQ

What PS1 games have been recompiled for PC?

As of Oct 20, 2026, 9 PS1 projects are playable (stable or beta): Driver 2, Tekken 3, The Legend of Dragoon, Ape Escape, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Crash Team Racing, MediEvil and Silent Hill. 1 more are early, unconfirmed or offline. The table on this page lists every one with its status.

Do I need my own copy of the PS1 game?

Yes. These projects ship code, not games: each one needs files from a copy you own, and this site never links to game files, ROMs or disc images.

Is a recompiled PS1 game the same as an emulator?

No. An emulator imitates the console while the game runs; a recompiled or decompiled game has been turned into a PC program beforehand, which usually runs faster and allows features like high frame rates and widescreen.
