Short answer (checked 20 October 2026)

Yes, Tekken 6 runs natively on PC, unofficially, through Tekken 6 Native Online by Ekspym, a static recompilation of the Xbox 360 game with rollback netcode, ranked online matches and a practice mode. The latest version is 2.3.3 (19 October 2026), for 64-bit Windows 10/11. It focuses on versus play, and the launcher builds the game from a disc image of your own Xbox 360 copy.

Tekken 6 reached the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October 2009 and never had a PC release. In late September 2026, mahmoud-mess created tekken6-recomp, a recompilation of the Xbox 360 version. Ekspym used it as the base for Tekken 6 Native Online, first released on 12 October 2026. It went through 30 releases in its first eight days. GenerationAmiga covered it on 16 October and DSOGaming on 19 October.

What it is

  • A static recompilation: the Xbox 360 uses a PowerPC processor, so its games cannot run on a PC as they are. The ReXGlue SDK translates the game’s executable from your disc into C++ ahead of time, and that is compiled into a Windows program. ReXGlue’s runtime is derived from the Xenia emulator, but nothing is emulated while you play.
  • Built on your PC: the README says the download contains no part of the game. The launcher’s builder checks your disc image, copies the game data, translates the game’s code and compiles it in about 3 to 10 minutes.
  • Online first: Ekspym added rollback netcode (a modified GGPO), a matchmaking launcher and his own lobby server. The source code of the game side, launcher and builder is published in a separate repository, one commit per release; the server is not.
  • AI involvement: the README doesn’t mention AI. Some commits in the release repository carry a co-author line for Claude, an AI coding assistant; we couldn’t confirm how much of the work that covers.

Current status

State Working, updated almost daily; the author still treats it as early
Latest version 2.3.3, 19 October 2026
First release 0.1.2, 12 October 2026
Platforms Windows 10/11 (64-bit); Linux via Proton not supported
Licence None stated for Ekspym’s own code (GGPO is MIT)

What the README, release notes and press describe:

  • online play with rollback, ranked and casual matchmaking, public and private lobbies, ratings, leaderboards, match history and rematches from the controller;
  • input delay settings to tune online play for your connection;
  • practice mode with frame data (start-up and advantage on hit or block), also usable while you wait for an online match;
  • costumes and custom looks for each fighter, shown in online matches;
  • Standard, High and Ultra picture modes, a lower 3D resolution and shadows for weaker GPUs, motion blur off, and full screen, borderless or windowed;
  • gamepads, arcade sticks and keyboards, with key mapping in the launcher;
  • a self-updating launcher; most patches only relink the game in seconds, while bigger ones need a rebuild from the disc.

What it doesn’t do: it is built around versus fights. The console release’s other modes, such as Scenario Campaign, are not part of it, as far as we can tell. On 20 October 2026 there were 135 open issues, among them training-mode freezes, a missing move list in practice, buttons not working on a DualSense, a strong bloom effect, a code generation failure and requests for Linux and Steam Deck support. Version 2.3.3 itself fixed an online crash after rollbacks. We didn’t play it ourselves.

What you need

  • A disc image of your own Xbox 360 copy of Tekken 6, the USA/Europe Rev 1 release, as an .iso or the extracted disc folder. The builder refuses other versions; the PS3 version doesn’t work. We don’t explain how to obtain or copy game data.
  • 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and a DirectX 12 graphics card.
  • About 10 GB of free space (6.7 GB of game data plus the build).
  • Possibly the Visual C++ runtime; the package includes its installer.
  • A stable connection for online play; the README recommends a cable over Wi-Fi.

How to install

At a high level, from the official README: download the package from the project’s GitHub Releases page and extract it into its own folder, not into Program Files. Start the launcher, open Profile → BUILD GAME, choose your Tekken 6 disc image and start the build. When it finishes, log in or play as a guest and find an opponent in the lobby. The release notes give SHA-256 hashes so you can check your download is the original. Windows may warn on first start because the launcher is not code-signed.

Other Tekken 6 projects

  • tekken6-recomp by mahmoud-mess: the original ReXGlue recompilation of the Xbox 360 game, which Tekken 6 Native Online is based on, with the author’s permission. It is an offline build: its portable builder (latest 0.9.4, 16 October 2026) builds the game from your ISO with no development tools to install, with a recommended Direct3D 12 renderer and two experimental Vulkan ones. Its release notes target the European multi-language Xbox 360 disc, and the build needs about 20 GB free at first. Version 0.9.4 aims at a steady 60 FPS even on integrated graphics. We couldn’t confirm which game modes it runs. Official repository: mahmoud-mess/tekken6-recomp.
  • Project Iron 6 by GenryTheFox: another ReXGlue-based Windows port of the Xbox 360 game, released as Beta 1 on 24 September 2026, mostly documented in Russian. It adds a launcher, PC settings in the game menu, eight languages including a Russian translation, and selected textures upscaled with a neural network. The author says it is developed with heavy help from Codex and Claude. Its installer asks for your own copy of the game, and multiplayer is only planned. Official repository: GenryTheFox0/Project-Iron-6.
  • PlayStation 3 emulation: the PS3 version can be played on PC through the RPCS3 emulator. That is emulation, not a port.

Is it official, and will it stay up?

  • All of these are unofficial fan projects, not affiliated with or endorsed by Bandai Namco.
  • The README says the package contains no part of the game, and you build from a disc you own. Laws on copying your own games differ by country.
  • Get it only from the official GitHub repository, and check the hashes in the release notes.

Not working?

  • The builder refuses your disc: only the USA/Europe Rev 1 Xbox 360 release is accepted.
  • Missing Visual C++ files: run vc_redist.x64.exe from the package folder.
  • You can’t join a friend: both players need exactly the same package version; the launcher offers updates itself.
  • Build problems: the README asks for native\build.log, and the newest game log for other problems, in a GitHub issue.

FAQ

Is there a Tekken 6 PC port?

Not an official one. Bandai Namco released Tekken 6 on Xbox 360 and PS3 only. Tekken 6 Native Online by Ekspym is an unofficial native Windows version of the Xbox 360 game, released on GitHub on 12 October 2026, with rollback netcode and ranked online matches. You build it from your own disc image.

Is Tekken 6 Native Online an emulator?

No. It is a static recompilation made with the ReXGlue SDK. The launcher translates the game's Xbox 360 PowerPC code from your disc into C++ and compiles it into a Windows program on your PC, which takes about 3 to 10 minutes. ReXGlue's runtime code is derived from the Xenia emulator, but the game itself runs as native code.

Which Tekken 6 version do I need?

Your own Xbox 360 disc image of Tekken 6 (USA, Europe), Rev 1, as an .iso or the extracted disc folder. The builder refuses other versions, and the PS3 version is not supported. We don't explain how to get game files.

Can I play Arcade or Scenario Campaign mode?

Not in Tekken 6 Native Online, as far as we can tell. The game starts straight into a fight from the online lobby, and practice mode was added on 19 October 2026. GenerationAmiga noted that the project concentrates on versus play and is not a complete edition of every mode. For offline play, the tekken6-recomp builder by mahmoud-mess builds the game on its own, but we couldn't confirm which modes it runs.

Does it have rollback netcode?

Yes. The project uses a modified GGPO, the rollback library many fighting games use. Matches run first to three rounds, and there are lobbies, ranked matches, ratings and leaderboards on the project's own server. Both players need the same version of the package.

Is there a Tekken 6 PC port for Linux or Steam Deck?

Not officially. The 2.1.4 release notes say Linux under Proton is not supported but should start, and open issues ask for proper Linux and Steam Deck support.

Unofficial. This page is written by an independent directory. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Bandai Namco Games or Ekspym (Tomáš Novák); recompilation base tekken6-recomp by mahmoud-mess (Tekken 6 Native Online (Tekken 6 PC port)'s author). We do not host any files, and we never link to game files, ROMs or ISOs.
