Short answer (checked 20 October 2026)

Yes, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled now runs natively on PC, unofficially, through CTR-NitroFueled-PC by GetLostIn, a Windows fork of the Linux port SacredFire. It is playable (Adventure, Arcade, split-screen, saves), offline only. The latest build is v0.4 (19 October 2026). You need a dump of your own PS4 copy (US CUSA13795 or European CUSA14876) and its 1.21 update.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is Beenox’s 2019 remake of the PlayStation kart racer, released on PS4, Xbox One and Switch but never on PC. On 9 October 2026 T3CHNOLOG1C started SacredFire, a native Linux port of the PS4 version built on deadinside28’s native Bloodborne port. Three days later GetLostIn published the first Windows build, v0.1.1, on 12 October, and four more releases followed within a week. The repository passed 500 GitHub stars in about a week.

This site is not affiliated with GetLostIn, T3CHNOLOG1C, Activision, Beenox or Sony.

Not the same as the CTR PC port of the original

People searching for a “CTR PC port” can land on two different projects:

CTR-NitroFueled-PC (this page) CTR Native
Game Nitro-Fueled, the 2019 remake Crash Team Racing, the 1999 PS1 original
Based on The PS4 version’s own code, run natively The community decompilation, rebuilt as C
You need A dump of your own PS4 copy and the 1.21 update A disc image of your own US PS1 copy
Platforms Windows 10/11; Linux from source Windows; Linux (32-bit build)

If you want the original game’s tracks and look, see our CTR Native page.

What it is

  • A native port of the PS4 game: the game’s x86-64 code is converted offline into a memory image and runs directly on your processor. There is no CPU emulation.
  • A runtime for this one game replaces the PS4 system functions it calls (memory, threads, files, audio, controllers, saves). Online services are stubbed.
  • Graphics go through a renderer derived from shadPS4, which translates the PS4 GPU work to Vulkan.
  • The Windows layer comes from Supermedo’s Windows port of bbport, the same base as the Windows versions of Bloodborne and Uncharted.
  • AI use: the README credits the Windows port to GetLostIn “with Claude (Anthropic)”.

Current status

State Playable on Windows, per the README; offline only
Latest build v0.4, 19 October 2026 (first build v0.1.1, 12 October 2026)
Platforms Windows 10 (1903+) / 11, 64-bit; Linux and Steam Deck from the SacredFire source in the same repository
Licence GNU GPL v2 or later

The README lists menus, Adventure and Arcade, races, sound, cutscenes, controllers and keyboard, saving and split-screen as working. Options include:

  • internal resolution from 480p to native 4K, with AMD FSR 1, FSR 3.1, FSR 4 (experimental) or NVIDIA DLSS on RTX cards;
  • FSR 3 frame generation (experimental) and 21:9 or 32:9 ultrawide with a centred HUD, both new in v0.4;
  • the community 60 FPS and no-motion-blur patches, with an FPS limit up to 240;
  • a launcher with controller setup for up to four players, save backups, your own DLC packages and trophies shown as achievements.

On an RTX 3070 the developer measured 110 to 130 FPS uncapped in races with the 60 FPS patch. Shaders seen for the first time cause short stalls until they are cached.

Known problems: the v0.4 notes say the GPU can be lost mid-race on some PCs (“Device lost”). On 20 October 2026 the repository had 58 open issues, many of them startup crashes with “error code 3” on certain graphics cards (Intel integrated GPUs, an AMD RX 5700 XT) and crashes during races. We didn’t play the game through ourselves, and the README says a full play-through of the Linux version has not been verified.

What you need

  • A decrypted dump of your own PS4 copy: the US edition CUSA13795 or, from v0.4, the European edition CUSA14876, as folders of the base game (v01.00) and the 1.21 update. Both builds of the 1.21 update work. Encrypted files, unextracted .pkg files and other regions do not. The launcher checks your folders and says in green or red what it found. We don’t explain how to obtain or copy game data.
  • Windows 10 (version 1903 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • A graphics card with Vulkan 1.3 and a current driver.
  • Older CPUs without MOVBE, BMI1 or LZCNT (Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge) are handled from v0.4 by rewriting those instructions at start.

How to install

From the official README, at a high level: download the portable ZIP from the project’s GitHub Releases page, unzip it anywhere, open CTR-NitroFueled-PC.exe, choose your base game and update folders, press Prepare the game once, then Play. In the game, Insert (or L3+R3) opens the port’s menu. To update, unzip a new build over the old folder; settings, saves and the prepared game are kept.

Other Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled projects

  • SacredFire by T3CHNOLOG1C: the original Linux and Steam Deck port this fork is built from. On 20 October 2026 its repository link in the README returned “not found” on GitHub, so we couldn’t confirm whether SacredFire is still published on its own. Its code and README are still part of GetLostIn’s repository.
  • OCTR (online forks): Ryu7w7/OCTR-NitroFueled-PC adds online races, rooms and friends through a community server called RyuNET (v0.5.4 on 19 October 2026), and martijnhe/OCTR-NitroFueled-PC-EU does the same for the European edition. They do not use Activision’s servers. Both need the same dump as the main port.
  • Many other GitHub copies of the repository exist. They are forks, not separate projects; use the official one.
  • CTR-NitroFueled-PC is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Activision or Beenox. The README says no game files are included.
  • Use only a dump of a copy you own.
  • Get it only from the official GitHub repository. The port is free; repacks that bundle the game are not the project.

More PS4 ports built the same way: Bloodborne, Uncharted, God of War III.

FAQ

Is there a Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled PC port?

Not an official one. Activision never released Nitro-Fueled on PC. Since October 2026 there is an unofficial native Windows port of the PS4 version, CTR-NitroFueled-PC by GetLostIn. The latest build is v0.4 from 19 October 2026, and it needs a dump of your own PS4 copy.

Where is the CTR Nitro-Fueled PC port on GitHub?

The official repository is GetLostIn/CTR-NitroFueled-PC, and its builds are on that repository's Releases page. Many copies and forks of it exist on GitHub; the online forks are covered below. Get the port only from the official repository.

Is it the same as the Crash Team Racing PC port (CTR Native)?

No. CTR Native is a port of the original 1999 PlayStation game, built from a decompilation, and needs your own PS1 disc image. CTR-NitroFueled-PC runs the 2019 PS4 remake by Beenox and needs a dump of your own PS4 copy. They are separate projects by different people.

Is it an emulator?

Not a classic one. The PS4 has an x86-64 processor like a PC, so the game's own code runs directly on your CPU. A small runtime stands in for the PS4 system libraries, and a renderer taken from the shadPS4 emulator turns the PS4 graphics work into Vulkan.

Which version of the game do I need?

The US edition CUSA13795 or, from v0.4, the European edition CUSA14876, as decrypted folders of the base game (v01.00) and the 1.21 update. Other regions such as the Japanese release are not supported. We don't explain how to get game files.

Does online play work?

Not in the main port; the README says online features are stubbed and the game runs offline. Separate forks named OCTR add online races on a community server called RyuNET, not Activision's servers.

Was it made with AI?

The README credits the Windows port of SacredFire to GetLostIn "with Claude (Anthropic)", so AI help was used for the Windows layer. The underlying runtime comes from bbport and shadPS4.
