Short answer (checked 24 October 2026)
Faust: The Seven Games of the Soul now runs in a browser, unofficially, through a new Rust and WebAssembly engine by Omnium Games, rewritten by hand from the original program. The README says the whole game plays. You need your own copy (the port was made with the English CD). Released 17 October 2026 (v0.1.0).
Faust: The Seven Games of the Soul is Arxel Tribe’s 1999 first-person adventure for Windows 95, built on the Ring engine: panoramas you turn around in, pre-rendered films and puzzles, set in the abandoned amusement park of Dreamland.

What it is
- A new engine: written from scratch in Rust and built for the browser as WebAssembly (and natively, for debugging).
- From the original program: every decoder, the panorama renderer and the whole game logic were read from
faust.exein Ghidra and rewritten by hand. The game’s own data files are read as they are. - Checked: every picture, film and sound file on the disc decodes and matches a reference decoder, and the panorama renderer is compared with the original’s. Where the port departs from the original, for example animation timing that only worked on the machines of its day, the code says so.
What you need
- Your own copy: the CD, a copy of it, or the folder where the game was installed.
- A current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
We don’t link or explain how to get game files.
Not working?
- The page can’t find the game: give it the whole CD, a full copy of it, or the folder the game was installed to, not single files.
- Another language version: the port was made with the English CD, so other versions may not work.
Another reverse-engineered adventure: Atlantis: The Lost Tales.
