Short answer (checked 21 October 2026)
Daily Red is a free, unofficial daily Pokémon battle by amoi-builds: every day, everyone gets the same six random level-100 Pokémon and one battle against RED. The original site is offline. It still runs at dailyredgame.com, a third-party re-host that is not run by the original author; it loads a FireRed-based ROM in the browser.
Daily Red went up on 11 October 2026. Its author built it from pret/pokefirered, the community decompilation of Pokémon FireRed, plus their own changes, compiled that into a Game Boy Advance ROM, and ran it in the browser through the mGBA emulator compiled to WebAssembly. Every battle uses FireRed’s own battle engine; nothing is rewritten in JavaScript.
The same day, the author took the site down. The original address now says “Daily Red is offline for now”, the repository was archived, and its README now covers playing it on your own computer only. No reason was given, and we couldn’t confirm why.
Where you can play it now
- dailyredgame.com (the Play link above, new tab): a fan site registered on 13 October 2026. Its About page says it is an independent fan site based on Daily Red by amoi-builds, not run by the original creator, and links the original repository. It downloads the Daily Red game file and the emulator, and runs the battle in your browser. It adds a practice mode for other dates and Spanish, Italian and French versions.
- dailyredgame.org: another fan site that says it is inspired by amoi-builds’ project. It is mostly its own reworked version, with a battle screen built for the browser, Easy and Hard teams and a separate emulator mode. Because dailyredgame.com stays closer to the original and credits it more clearly, we link that one instead.
- The original source is on GitHub. It holds only the author’s patches and the website code, not the ROM; you build the game yourself with the scripts in the README.
How it works
- Press Play today’s battle. The page downloads the game (about 9 MB in all).
- You start at the foot of a snowy summit with six level-100 Pokémon. Open the menu to check their moves before you fight.
- Walk up the stairs and talk to RED to start the battle.
- Win or lose, that is your one battle for the day. A new team arrives at midnight in your own time zone.
The day’s team comes from the date, so everyone on the same calendar day starts with the same six. Teams are drawn from all 386 Pokémon of Generations 1 to 3, with a minimum total of base stats, and about one team in eight gets a legendary. Each Pokémon gets random moves it can learn and a held item. RED uses his Mt. Silver team from HeartGold and SoulSilver (Pikachu, Espeon, Snorlax, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise) at level 100, with Gen 3 moves.
Once the battle with RED starts, leaving or reloading the page counts as a loss. Your wins, losses and streaks are kept in your browser only.

Is it official?
No. Daily Red is a fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, Creatures, Game Freak or The Pokémon Company, and the game itself is FireRed with changes, including its art and music. The site we link is a third-party re-host, not the original author’s. Pokémon fan projects are often taken down; we check the site daily and will mark it if it goes.

FAQ
What is Daily Red?
A free, unofficial daily Pokémon battle, like Wordle. Each day everyone gets the same six random level-100 Pokémon from Generations 1 to 3, and you get one battle against RED at the top of the mountain. It runs on the Pokémon FireRed engine in the browser.
Who made Daily Red?
A developer publishing as amoi-builds on GitHub. The original repository was created on 11 October 2026 and is now archived.
Why is the original Daily Red site offline?
The original site at dailyred.pages.dev now only says "Daily Red is offline for now". The author took it down on launch day and changed the README to local play only, without giving a reason. We couldn't confirm why.
Where can I still play Daily Red?
On third-party fan sites. We link dailyredgame.com, which runs the Daily Red game in an emulator and names amoi-builds as the original creator. It is not run by the original author.
Is dailyredgame.com the official site?
No. Its About page says it is an independently operated fan site based on Daily Red by amoi-builds, not run by the original creator and not an official Pokémon service.
Does it download a ROM?
Yes. To play, the page downloads a game file built from the FireRed decompilation (a GBA ROM, about 5.5 MB compressed) and runs it in the mGBA emulator in your browser.
Was it made with AI?
Not confirmed. The original README does not say either way.
Unofficial. This page is written by an independent directory. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Nintendo / The Pokémon Company or amoi-builds (original Daily Red); now hosted by an unnamed third-party fan site (Daily Red's author). We do not host any files, and we never link to game files, ROMs or ISOs.
