Crash Bash Online is an unofficial browser port of Crash Bash (2000), the Crash Bandicoot party game for the original PlayStation. It puts the four-player mode online: share a room code with friends, or play alone and let CPU players fill the seats. You do not need your own game files and it is not an emulator. It runs in desktop and phone browsers. The site was working when we checked on 21 October 2026.

What it is

The site is run by Paolo Furlan, an individual in the United Kingdom, according to its terms page. He also makes two iPhone games and publishes the same game as an iPhone and iPad app, Crash Bash Multiplayer. Release notes on the site start on 19 September 2026, and Retro Dodo covered the launch two days later.

The site calls itself a fan port that plays like the PAL disc (SCES-02834), down to its 25 Hz game speed. Looking at the site’s code, it loads a single game data pack holding arenas, 3D models, textures, characters and animations, and its game logic refers to memory addresses from the PlayStation version. That points to logic and data taken from the original game rather than a remake drawn from scratch; the site itself does not say where its models and sounds come from. Matches run on the site’s own server: players send their inputs and the server runs the game.

What you can play

  • All 28 battle arenas from the seven minigame families: Crate Crush, Polar Push, Pogo Pandemonium, Ballistix, Tank Wars, Crash Dash and Medieval Mayhem.
  • Battle and Tournament in public or private rooms for two to four people, or solo against the CPU.
  • Adventure mode with all five warp rooms and the four bosses, saved to an account. A second player can join online in a private room.
  • The eight PAL characters: Crash, Coco, Neo Cortex, N. Brio, Tiny, Koala Kong, Dingodile and Rilla Roo, all open from the start.

There are no cheat codes and nothing to unlock. Rooms are hosted in Europe first, so players far away may see more lag.

How to play

  1. Open the site and pick SOLO VS CPU, PUBLIC BATTLE or PRIVATE BATTLE.
  2. For a private room, share the code shown on character select; friends join with BATTLE BY CODE.
  3. Pick a character. The host picks the arena, difficulty and the number of trophies to win.
  4. Click the speaker icon once to turn on sound.

Keyboard: move with the arrow keys or WASD, jump with Space, attack with X, pick up or throw with Z, taunt with C. A controller works too (press any button to connect it), and phones get an on-screen pad.

  • It is an unlicensed fan project. Crash Bash was developed by Eurocom with Cerny Games and published by Sony; the Crash Bandicoot series now belongs to Activision. None of them have endorsed this site, and the site says it will change or remove things if a rights holder asks.
  • Playing costs nothing. The FAQ says there is nothing to pay and no ads, and that every arena is free. Early coverage mentioned a planned paid “Arena Pass”; the site no longer mentions it as of 21 October 2026.
  • The game is not sold anywhere today; the only official copy is the 2000 PS1 disc.

For another Crash game rebuilt from its PS1 code, see CTR Native, the Crash Team Racing PC port.

Not working?

  • No sound: click the speaker icon on the game; browsers only allow sound after a click.
  • Lag in online rooms: rooms are hosted in Europe first; solo play against the CPU is not affected.
  • A friend dropped out: during play their seat gets no input and the match goes on; the page tries to reconnect them.
  • Adventure asks you to log in: Adventure saves to an account, so guests have to sign up first. Battle works without one.
